Villa Ceglie - Puglia

History and modernity, refinement and anomalies can and should coexist. This uniquely restored farmhouse in the heart of Puglia is the perfect combination of the traditional Italian design with a modern twist. This characteristic 4-bedroom farmhouse has been recently renovated by STUDIOTOFF by using the traditional charm as a springboard for the creation of a perfectly designed modern holiday home with a boutique hotel feel.

The former farmhouse, along with its guest house has been restored preserving its original beauty while incorporating an authentic and contemporary design. As you enter, the door leads you into a stunning entrance all adorned with a beautifully designed Dutch tiled wall and ‘PUGLIA’ lights, creating a welcoming atmosphere. From here you’ll discover the expansive and airy open plan living and dining area, characterized by its lofty vaulted ceilings and abundance of doors and windows overlooking the courtyard and the olive grove. Adjacent to the dining area, you’ll find a spacious and well-equipped kitchen boasting Scandinavian design elements, ensuring a delightful culinary experience.

As part of the new lay-out, STUDIOTOFF has created four comfortable bedrooms in boutique hotel style. Three of these bedrooms are situated in the main house, while one is in the guest house. The Primary bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, featuring a striking yellow stone sink that beautifully contrast with the dark iron tiles on walls and floor. The remaining two bedrooms in the main house offer delightful view of the garden and the pool. These two bedrooms share a bathroom designed with elegant marble tiles and black design finishes. Throughout all three bedrooms, you’ll find a sense if simplicity combined with the luxurious comfort of hotel quality beds and bedding. Custom-made wall panelling and clothing racks from Opsmuk and Skagerak add a touch of sophistication to the space.

The guest house is just a few steps away from the farmhouse and compromises a generously sized bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. This charming annex is styled just as beautifully as the rest of the house with high design finishes and has a nice sofa that’s ideal for a little solitude.

The outdoor areas of the property, with the presence of remarkable century-old olive trees,  are designed to enhance outdoor living. A key vision was to seamlessly integrate the pool into the overall architectural layout of the house. The pool itself is thoughtfully designed, featuring an underwater sun shelf that allows for relaxation in shallow waters. Flaking the pool, two majestic olive trees stand tall, with a hammock gracefully swaying between them, offering a serene and inviting retreat. Completing this setting is a sundeck with six comfortable sun loungers providing the perfect spot to soak up the sun’s warmth. Additionally, the pool is equipped with a heater for added comfort.

Surrounding the house are different terraces with plenty of choice for both sun and shade were created. Outside of the kitchen, a spacious courtyard awaits, featuring a terrace with stylish lounge chairs. Moving forward, you’ll discover a pergola that shelters the outdoor kitchen and dining space. The outdoor kitchen is embellished with impeccable handcrafted Dutch design tiles and boasts a charming wooden swing. A lengthy wooden table, comfortably accommodating eight people, invites for leisurely and relaxed meals on the edge of the olive grove.
